If you’re a serious Disney fanatic, chances are you’ve considered getting married at one of their famous theme parks. While getting married at a Disney theme park can be expensive, it is a unique wedding opportunity with plenty of chances for great photos and fun attractions.
Disney offers a few different wedding packages for couples, so check out what options are out there if you want to have a truly Disney wedding in one of the parks or at one of their luxury hotels. There are also Disney cruise lines that you could get married on as well! Keep in mind that some of your guests may not be able to afford to travel depending on your proximity to the theme park of your choice.
Recreate Your Favorite Movie
If you have an all-time favorite Disney movie, consider recreating it for your wedding ceremony and reception! For a Frozen themed wedding, create a winter wonderland with plenty of snowflake and icy details.
If you love Peter Pan, create a Neverland themed reception complete with pixie dust, mermaids, pirates, and more. For a Beauty and the Beast wedding, use red roses in your floral arrangements and decorate with antique teapots, candlesticks, clocks, and more.
There are endless possibilities, and no one knows your favorite movie better than you, so consider how you can create a movie-specific wedding theme.
Themed Invitations
Make your Disney wedding apparent to guests from the start with themed invitations! You could incorporate some Disney puns like “Be our guest on our magical day” or even incorporate Disney images right on the invite!

All of the ideas on our list can easily be used at other pre-wedding events like showers, engagement parties, bachelor and bachelorette weekends, or even the rehearsal dinner. Embrace your inner Disney nerd to the fullest and keep your wedding day focused on romance.
Tangled Inspired Lantern Decor
One motif from the movie Tangled is the paper lanterns that Rapunzel and Flynn send off into the sky. This is a gorgeous idea for wedding receptions as well!
You could decorate your ceremony and reception with paper lanterns to add a soft glow, or use them as lighting at an outdoor wedding venue.
If you really want to recreate that scene from Tangled, you could even float lanterns into the night for a special moment at your wedding. Just make sure that you practice fire safety if you do this, and consider finding biodegradable lanterns so that you don’t harm the local environment!
Horse Drawn Carriage
Whether you ride off for your end of the night send off, or you use it as a decorative photo backdrop at the reception, consider a horse drawn carriage for a Disney princess moment! Create a real-life version of Cinderella’s carriage – you can even rent real horses to add to the magic!
If a full blown horse and carriage sounds like too much, you could create tiny pumpkin carriages like in the movie as a cute decoration!
Disney Wedding Songs
No Disney movie is complete without music, so create a Disney wedding playlist! You can include your favorite songs from Disney movies – there are modern covers of many of these songs if you want to elevate your soundtrack a bit.
You can also use classic Disney love songs for important moments on your wedding day, like the first dance, parent or sibling dances, or even music for your wedding ceremony.
Mickey & Minnie Cake Topper
One subtle touch to add is a Mickey and Minnie Mouse cake topper! There are plenty of cute cake topper ideas out there, so if Mickey and Minnie aren’t your style, pick a couple from your favorite movie!
For a spooky vibe, top your cake with Jack Skellington and Sally. For a light joke, consider the Princess and the Frog for your cake topper!
Disney Movie Wedding Table Names
Help guests find their way to their tables by creating a seating chart with tables named after Disney movies. Create table markers with a cartoon from that specific movie, or decorate the whole table based on the movie it’s assigned!

Alice in Wonderland is one of the most visually interesting Disney films, and one of the most famous scenes is the Mad Hatter’s Tea Party. Add an Alice-themed twist to your reception by setting up tables just like the tea party scene! Use colorful teapots and teacups, and even label glasses with “Drink me” parchment.
Not sure where to incorporate Alice in Wonderland? The dessert table would be the perfect spot to add this style of decor! You can even serve tea with your wedding cake and other desserts to complete the look.

For the true Disney princess experience, get married at a real life castle! You’d be surprised at just how many castle wedding venues are available, even in the United States.

Whether you set up a buffet or other food stations like grazing tables for guests to snack on, add a “Be Our Guest” theme as homage to Beauty and the Beast!
If you’re really committed to this idea, you could even try to create hors d’oeuvres to match the lyrics of the song. We’re not sure what “the grey stuff” could be, but we hear it’s delicious!

Look and feel like a princess by rocking a tiara on your wedding day!
This look isn’t far fetched for bridal fashion, so you can wear a subtle or even a modern tiara without going overboard. Emulate your favorite Disney princess by recreating her tiara or find one that fits your style.
Mickey Cufflinks
Add some Disney magic to the groom’s attire with Mickey Mouse cufflinks! This is a subtle touch but adds a nice flair to your tuxedo.
You can even get matching Mickey cufflinks as gifts for your groomsmen so that you all match the theme on the big day!
The Little Mermaid Beach Wedding
If you’re getting married on a beach, a boat, or any nautical location, consider a Little Mermaid themed affair! With a beachy theme already in mind, you can subtly include references to Ariel and all of her friends under the sea.
